Ray Byrne, CEO of Whyy? Change Limited, a leading training and apprenticeship provider in South Yorkshire, has announced the promotion of Emma Harrison to the role of Managing Director for Whyy? Change.
Whyy? Change’s current Governance Director, Emma Harrison becomes Managing Director this month, with responsibility for all things training, including operational performance, customer and learner experience, delivery planning for commercial and apprenticeship training.
Since joining Whyy? Change as a Governance officer in 2019, Emma has played an integral role in the growth of Whyy? Change over the past few years, whilst keeping a close eye on the governance of the business. In April 2021, Emma’s commitment to apprenticeship training and leadership skills were recognised by Ray and was promoted to Governance Director in April 2021.
Ray Byrne, CEO of Whyy? Change Limited went on to say:
“Systems matter, and it was always my intention to build the business with strong governance in mind. Emma was my first recruit to the cause and was tasked with protecting the business from me. Emma leads from the front by being a role model in her practice.”
Emma has successfully implemented governance processes and policies to maintain high quality standards of apprenticeship training. Getting Whyy? Change on to RoATP, the main apprenticeships provider list, securing CIPD centre status and being named as a ‘Good Provider’ by Ofsted are just some of the incredible achievements Emma has been recognised for.
With the introduction of Whyy? Change’s sister brand, Whyy? Unboxd, the business will restructure under the umbrella of Whyy?, with ‘Change’ and ‘Unboxd’ being two separate divisions of the Whyy? business.
Whyy? Change will focus on all things training and apprenticeships, Whyy? Unboxd will provide an alternative solution to traditional agencies, consultants and business coaches, by giving you access to a unique pool of industry experts as and when you need it.
This move will see Emma become the Managing Director of Whyy? Change who will be responsible for strengthening Whyy? Change’s aim of providing business knowledge & services to transform people and industry.
Upon finding out the news of her promotion, Emma Harrison Managing Director of Whyy? Change said:

Ray Byrne will assume overall leadership of both Whyy? divisions as the Chief Executive Officer, with his role focusing on the strategic direction of the business, innovation and people management, governance, resources and finances of Whyy? Change and Whyy? Unboxd.
