Meet Millie, a Trainee Communications Assistant at Henry Boot Plc who successfully completed her Marketing Executive Apprenticeship with Whyy? Change, going on to achieve a distinction grade and her CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.
Millie’s Development Journey
As a result, Millie has received an internal promotion to Communications Assistant, has progressed to a Degree Apprenticeship in Marketing and continues to expand her marketing career.
Millie did her research into which training provider she wanted to study with after her employer suggested a marketing apprenticeship. Whyy? Change was delighted to make the cut as Millie is ruthless and knows what she wants.
Upon onboarding, it was clear to see that Mille (only 19 at the time), had a spark for marketing and was eager to learn.
Developing new marketing skills and confidence
Weeks passed and Millie’s confidence grew, as did her skills. She excelled in lessons and provided support to other learners in the group. Always applying her own initiative, she is never scared to ask for support or to scribble on the whiteboard when presenting ideas.
It was clear from her regular apprenticeship reviews that Millie was making a big impression in her workplace (Henry Boot Plc) too. Feedback from her line manager, Dan Boot, was consistently positive with many examples of how Millie had contributed to their marketing activities. Keen to experience all that marketing involved, Millie threw herself into extra work activities too, sitting on many cross-departmental groups and taking a lead on volunteering activities.
Marketing Apprenticeships Role Model
Millie’s journey wasn’t without challenges and setbacks, however, her approach to these showed a great deal of maturity and emotional intelligence. She’s spoken to young people in local schools about her apprenticeship journey, has been interviewed about her journey in promotional videos for Henry Boot and continues to be a keen advocate for apprenticeships.
Having studied for 18 months to complete a full CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing and a Marketing Executive Level 4 apprenticeship, Millie was awarded a distinction grade.
Millie’s end-point assessment required her to independently undertake a marketing project. Millie researched this thoroughly and proposed to get Henry Boot Plc on Instagram. Her project demonstrated her wealth of marketing skills and was implemented successfully. This was presented to the EPAO assessor and followed by a critical discussion, which went so well that she achieved a distinction grade.
Marketing Apprenticeship Feedback
Millie said:
“I’ve recently completed my CIM level 4 Digital Marketing Qualification through an apprenticeship. Emma was extremely helpful throughout the onboarding process and explained everything. My tutor was Laura, who answered any question I had and explain the content in multiple ways if I didn’t understand a certain topic.
I can’t recommend Whyy? Change enough it was a great environment to learn within. Such a supporting, caring and encouraging environment.”
Feedback from Dan, Millie’s line manager:
“I just wanted to drop you an email to say thank you for supporting Millie through her level 4 apprenticeship. We are all absolutely delighted with her results at Henry Boot, but more importantly, her overall development in marketing and as a person over the past 18 months, in which you’ve played a huge part in. I genuinely look forward to seeing Millie continue to develop.”
