National Apprenticeships Week 2022 - TC Harrison Group

To celebrate National Apprenticeships Week 2022 we asked Matt Vause, Group Head of Marketing at TC Harrison Group a few questions about the impact apprenticeships are having on his marketing team.

Within Matt’s team, Izzy is enrolled on a Level 3 Digital Marketer apprenticeship where she’ll also be working towards a CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing. A highly regarded qualification within the marketing industry and one that many employers look out for when hiring. This additional qualification is offered at no extra cost to the employer or apprentice and includes all the additional fees associated with CIM.

How have apprenticeships helped to upskill your team?

Without an apprenticeship, Izzy would have struggled to get into her chosen field of work. Whilst she had a genuine passion for marketing, the course at Whyy? Change has opened her eyes to the wider world of all things Marketing and has given her the appetite to go and dig about in her day-to-day role. Helping to understand how her learning can be applied to our business to further bolster her understanding.

How has apprenticeship training benefitted your organisation?

Without apprenticeships, we would have a massive skills shortage in the engineering teams. Growing and developing our teams via apprenticeships is a cost-effective solution to adding new engineers in and giving our apprentices a career-based life skill.

Have you noticed any changes to your business or staff since investing in apprenticeships?

Izzy’s eyes light up when we discuss something new, she is literally a sponge for the team’s collective knowledge, she is so eager to learn and every new piece of work or project is met with delight and excitement. She also makes a fantastic cuppa!

Why did you choose Whyy? Change?

Completely selfish reasons, geographically Whyy? Change are next door to us! So it made perfect sense to give Izzy a place to go and learn that was close enough she could come back into the office afterwards and pick my brains on what she’d learnt in her latest session while it was still fresh in her mind.

If you’re reading this thinking that an accredited apprenticeship could be for you or your business we’d love to have a chat.
