Sheffield City Region’s Skills Bank programme has funding available to help South Yorkshire businesses access new skills and business training. Businesses can begin training as early as February 2019.

The Skills Bank programme is now in its second round of funding to help businesses drive growth. It’s part of the city region’s growth hub offer and is funded by the Government’s Adult Education Budget and private sector contributions.

Skilled advisors will work with businesses to identify what skills they need to develop, to apply for funding and to connect with high quality training providers.  Phase 2 of the Skills Bank programme is about to open for applications, with funding for training available immediately.

Huge demand for this programme is anticipated, so the local training providers are building waiting lists of interested businesses that want to develop their skills in early 2019.

Whyy Change is a training provider certified to deliver training through the skills bank. Ray Byrne, Chief Executive, told us:

“We help businesses to improve through business training and professional development. We deliver CMI Approved leadership and management courses, apprenticeships, and training in Lean & Six Sigma, Sales and Marketing, including digital marketing and SEO strategy.

“We work with a broad range of South Yorkshire-based companies who tell us that they need to develop their skills to achieve real growth.

“Our clients include Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research centre with Boeing. The companies we work with report that training in South Yorkshire is inflexible and can be expensive. What we’re offering as part of this programme is totally flexible and tailored to meet the needs of each business.”

Whyy Change is located just off J36 of the M1, with ample space and free parking – it’s easily accessible from the whole of South Yorkshire and has training places available from February 2019.

Businesses who are interested in accessing training through the Skills bank can email contactus@whyychange.com or call 0114 400 0077. More information about the types of skills and training business can access is available at https://whyychange.com/what-we-do/
